MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR BARTLETT GRAIN FACILITY TO LOCATE IN SOUTH JACKSONVILLE, ILLINOIS
South Jacksonville Mayor Gordon Jumper (L) and Terry Dennison of the Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Commission announced at a press conference on Friday, 4-20-12, that Bartlett Grain Company will build a new grain-handling facility in South Jacksonville, Illinois. The site is located on the Kansas City Southern Railroad and will also be accessible from both Interstate 72 and HWY 267. The facility will have over two million bushels of storage. Bob Knief, President of Bartlett Grain, said, "Bartlett appreciates the work of Gordon Jumper and the Village of South Jacksonville to help make this project a reality"

Summer Sewer Rates

For those residents who do significa
nt watering of their lawn, fill swimming pools or other activities where the water is NOT being discharged into the sewer, the Village offers a summer sewer rate.
Your summer sewer rate is calculated as follows: the average of your last 6 months sewer bill PLUS 10% will be the fixed rate you will pay for May-Sept. sewer bill. All water used will be charged at the normal rate.

Sign-up FREE from 4-1-12 thru 4-30-12 this will affect your sewer bill for May - September, 2012.
Applications for summer sewer rates accepted at Village Hall 4-1-12 thru 4-30-12
AFTER 4-30-12, there will be a $5 processing charge.
Signing up for SUMMER SEWER RATES will affect your SEWER BILL ONLY (WATER RATE DOES NOT CHANGE, YOU WILL PAY FOR ALL WATER USAGE). YOU WILL BE LOCKED INTO THIS RATE FOR 6 MONTHS.

GODFREY PARK PLAYGROUND IS OPEN 7A-10P YEAR ROUND.
THE WATER TOY IS CLOSED
FROM LABOR DAY TILL MEMORIAL DAY.

Buster Sanitation
is picking up yard waste. Bag tags are available at Village Hall for $2.50 each. Buster has suspended yard waste pickup from Dec. 1, 2011 - March 15, 2012.

Annual Summer Sewer Rates
Free sign-up begins April 1st. After May 1st, $5 charge. NO REDUCTION on water charges, This rate will take your average sewer, add 10%, then lock you into that rate for May-Sept.

The Village of South Jacksonville, Illinois, a corporation established June 16, 1911, operates with a Village President as CEO and a Board of Trustees as the keepers of  the laws within the Village.

Gordon D. Jumper is the Village President (1997-present).  Our community of 3,500 is located in Central Illinois, just north of the intersection at I-72 and Route 67
 in Morgan County, Illinois.

The Plans Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals oversee construction and zoning issues within the community.  Several Committees assist in the decision-making process, making sure the Village operates efficiently and effectively.  Go to the "Officials" page for a list of contacts and meeting schedules.
