Political Sign Information for the Village of South Jacksonville
Temporary non-illuminated signs in connection with political campaigns,, other civic non-commercial campaigns, or other non-commercial messages subject to the conditions stated below:

a) Number: Limited to one (1) sign per candidate for each street frontage.
b) Height: In dwelling district, ground-mounted signs not to exceed four (4) feet in height. In other districts, signs shall not exceed a height of ten (10) feet.
c) Area: Gross area of signs shall not exceed sixteen (16) sq. feet in area per sign in residentially-zoned areas, and thirty-two (32) sq. feet in other areas and shall be set back a minimum of fifteen (15) feet from all street right-of-way lines.
d) Sign Display Time Limitations: For political and noncommercial civic campaigns, signs may be displayed thirty (30) days prior to the event and seven (7) days after the event. (If a final election follows within 100 days of a primary election, may continue to display their signs during the interim period and up to seven (7) days after the final election.

2005 VILLAGE ELECTION RESULTS - There was an Independent Election on April 5, 2005 in the Village of South Jacksonville. There were five Village official positions up for election: Mayor, Clerk, and three trustees. These four-year terms will expire in 2009. Incumbent candidates Gordon Jumper, Linda Douglass, Mike Elliott, Dick Samples, and Sonie Smith retained their seats.
