GODFREY PARK "PLAY FOR ALL" PROJECT HAS
BEEN AWARDED A
2008 GOVERNOR'S HOMETOWN AWARD! |

A group of community volunteers,
"Play for All, Inc.", Barb Baker, President, identified a need and
committed their
efforts to create a free park with playground and water features that would be accessible to people of all
ages and abilities at
Godfrey Park, at the corner of Greenwood and Hardin Avenue.
Over a two-year period, outdated equipment was removed (with the assistance
of UPS employees and families) and fundraisers netted more than $500,000 to
equip and landscape the park.
Donations are STILL being accepted as the project is
